If you’re not playing Jackbox Games at your work happy hour, is it truly an hour of happiness? Yes, our games provide merriment and revelry amongst friends and family, but did you know that they also double as killer team building activities? Or, at the very least, a structured social activity that can cut through the tension of awkward small talk. You’ll never have to hear about Jim’s root canal debacle again!
If you’re already the boss (literally, not figuratively) give one of our party packs a whirl on a Friday afternoon. If you’re not in charge, (and really, none of us are in this rat race we call existence) become everyone’s new favorite coworker when you buy one of our packs on sale as a gift for the office.
A few things to consider before you get a game going:
- Our handy, dandy “How to Play” video will take some of the burden off of you explaining how to get started.
- Some offices have firewalls that block Jackbox.tv, the page that players will need to open in their browser in order to connect to the game. Test this ahead of time and if possible, have a wifi hotspot ready to use as a backup. Then immediately apply for a cooler job where they allow our games.
- Jim might use the user-generated content opportunities to mention his root canal debacle again. This can’t be avoided, but you can send a subtle message by not voting for his answers.
- Many of our recent games have Family Friendly settings that you can turn on in the game’s lobby menu before starting. This is HIGHLY recommended for an office environment! Unless you are an agent of complete and utter chaos.
Not sure which pack to go with to start the
party work-sanctioned activity? Our most recent pack, The Jackbox Party Pack 5, has something for everyone! Practice your pitching and presentation skills in Patently Stupid, show off your trivia knowledge in You Don’t Know Jack: Full Stream, or channel your rage by destroying aliens in Zeeple Dome, to name a few!
Ahead of New Year’s Eve, Jackbox Games wants to help you get a jump start on one of the biggest decisions you’ll have to make in 2019. After all, who better to help you set important life milestones than the creators of Lie Swatter! So, here are our suggestions for your New Year’s resolution based on the games you love and cherish.
Get better at drawing. Sure, you can draw a decent penguin but can you draw a missed high five? This is the perfect year to invest in expensive art lessons, so a sad man in tweed can teach you about cross hatching. Or just grab a copy of Drawful 2! It’s guaranteed to turn you into the speediest doodler this side of the Atlantic Ocean. (Not a guarantee.)
Ask someone out on a date. Need some help mustering up the courage to ask a dreamboat out for coffee? There are dozens of highly disreputable seduction courses anxious to take your cash. But that might conflict with your other New Years resolution to not be a garbage person. Instead, try Monster Seeking Monster. If you can ask a zombie for a date, a human wearing a puffy coat at Starbucks won’t seem scary at all.
Pitch your big idea. Yeah, THAT one. The one that could make you the big bucks if you had the courage to pitch it. The best way to practice this kind of high stakes presentation is to work in your garage, day and night, until you become the CEO of global tech conglomerate. The second best way is to use Patently Stupid. Watch your friends have their lightbulb moment as they realize you’re going to be the “rich friend with a boat” someday.
Be more fashion-forward. In 2019, you’re going to impress upon people that you’re here to Look Good.Sure, you could walk into your local JCPenney and grab literally anything off the rack. (Not to mention the savings!) But, why should THE MAN tell you how to dress. Create your own bold, exciting t-shirts in Tee K.O. that you can order after you play!
Learn more about your inner circle. With big secrets comes great, great power. Hiring a private detective to follow everyone you know at all times is a no-brainer. But for a budget-friendly option, just play Fakin’ It with your friends. You’ll learn about all of the weird facial expressions they make when they are trying to hide theirs!
Our games are on sale now! Pick up a party game or two to enjoy with friends at your New Year’s Eve party.
Sure it’s great to the be the VIP of your family or friend group that always brings Jackbox games to the party. But it’s the season of giving, which means giving those people their own copies of our games so they can have a party without you! Here are a few common FAQs about gifting our games:
Can I purchase a physical copy of a Jackbox Game?
We’ve officially joined the cyber bandwagon and do not sell physical copies of our games. Our games are only available as digital downloads on a variety of platforms! Choose the game you’re interested in purchasing on this page to view the platforms it is available on.
How can I give someone a digital download of a Jackbox Game?
The first step would be to figure out what platform that person would be interested in playing our games on! Our party packs are available on consoles (Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch), PC/Mac/Linux, and other streaming consoles (Comcast Xfinity, Apple TV).
We sell digital PC/Mac/Linux Steam codes for The Jackbox Party Pack 5 directly on our website here! After your purchase, you’ll receive the code via email. You can print and wrap it, save a tree and email, or turn into a paper airplane for 3 minutes of unbridled fun!
If you’re looking to purchase on a console, you will need to purchase a gift card for that console’s store. For example, if your giftee wants to play on their Xbox One, they will need a Microsoft store gift card. We recommend including a giant post-it note on the gift card that says, “THIS IS FOR THE JACKBOX PARTY PACK 5.”
Do you sell gift cards?
We don’t sell gift cards for our games. We do sell PC/Mac/Linux codes for The Jackbox Party Pack 5 directly from our website here. If you’re looking to purchase on another platform, you will need to purchase a gift card for that platform’s store.
Do you sell any Jackbox Games t-shirts or other merch?
We sure do! We have some nifty swag available in our store here.
Who needs an armful of slippery newspaper leaflets about Black Friday sales when you have THIS blog post!
It’s that time of year. You need a post-turkey activity to do with your extended family. You need a gift idea for your cousin who’s a freshman in college. You’re looking for a New Year’s Eve party game to pass time until maybe, just maybe you finally ask Brenda if you can kiss her at midnight, you coward!
Jackbox is here to help. Our games are on sale on multiple platforms this holiday season and we want to give you the inside scoop. Look for the platform you want to purchase on, double check the dates, and then set a reminder on your phone to Get. That. Deal.
The links below will only reflect the sale price when the sale is live in that platform’s store.

You’re 9 years old. You’re at Thanksgiving dinner at Aunt Louellen’s house. After hours of waiting and making minimal noise at the kids’ table, it’s finally time to EAT PIE. Your one allotted slice of apple covered in vanilla ice cream is gone in 3 minutes. You look longingly over to the dessert table. No one else is around except for Uncle Bob. You wink at him conspiratorially as you reach for a second slice. He’s cool. He knows what’s up.
But just as you’re about to take that first bite, you hear him say, “I’m telling your mother.”
That’s right. Uncle Bob was a snitch. He was then and he is now, and even though the years have passed, you’ve never forgotten it. You’ve been waiting years to obliterate Uncle Bob for this betrayal. It’s time to exact your revenge.
It’s time for a family-wide Mad Verse City tournament.
What’s Mad Verse City?
In Mad Verse City (one of five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 5), players craft rhymes for robots to perform in a text-to-speech rap battle. Each round involves a player receiving a prompt for a single word (example: “an occupation”) and the game uses it to create your first line. Then, you write the second line on your own, making it rhyme with the first. This repeats twice and ta-da! You have a verse.
Once you’re done writing, you’re pitted against an opponent. The robots read out your creations and the audience votes on a winner. Watch us play the game here.
Setting up the Tournament
Eight players can play Mad Verse City and the game is played in three rounds. In the final round, the players with the best score must go head to head to determine who emerges victorious. Your sister can destroy your grandmother! Your weird twin cousins can finally channel some of their weird twin energy! And, everyone can laugh at how silly it is hearing robots say phrases like, “It’s lit, dog.”
A round with eight players lasts about 30 minutes. Just enough time to digest between the main dinner and dessert.
- Relief from dishwasher duty
- A free pass from bringing a dish to next year’s Thanksgiving
- A code for The Jackbox Party Pack 5 for those who do not own it yet
- Cold hard cash
You can play Mad Verse City (and the other four games in The Jackbox Party Pack 5) on major digital platforms now!
